This Privacy Policy explains how Afindan (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal data when you visit https://afindan.com (the “website”). We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the website and understand how it is used.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is:
Simone Bologna
61025 Montelabbate (PU), Italy
Email: info@afindan.com
For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to info@afindan.com.
2. What data we collect and why
2.1 Server log data
When you visit the website, our hosting server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time of the request. We use this data only to deliver the website, keep it secure and fix technical problems.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2.2 Cookies
We use strictly necessary (functional) cookies to make the website work and to remember your cookie choices. With your consent we also use statistics cookies (see section 2.3). You can change or withdraw your consent at any time through the “Manage consent” button on the website. Full details are in our Cookie Policy (EU).
Legal basis: functional cookies — our legitimate interest and Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive; statistics cookies — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
2.3 Website statistics (Google Analytics)
If you accept statistics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It helps us understand which articles are read, how visitors reach the website and which links they click, so we can improve our content.
Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We have disabled data sharing with Google for other Google products and services, and we do not use Google Analytics for advertising or personalised ads. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States; such transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, and on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Google Analytics only runs after you give consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
2.4 Contacting us by email
If you write to us, we use your email address and the content of your message only to reply to you.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your request (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps prior to a contract where relevant (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3. Affiliate links
Some links on this website are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up on the partner’s website, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are labelled and explained in our affiliate disclosure.
When you click an affiliate link you leave our website. The partner (for example an online store or a software company) may set its own cookies and process your data under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your personal data from these partners — only aggregated reports of clicks and commissions.
4. Who receives your data
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the website, acting on our behalf:
- Hosting: Hostinger International Ltd. (servers located in the European Union — Frankfurt, Germany; backups in France).
- Website statistics: Google Ireland Limited (only with your consent, see section 2.3).
- Email: Hostinger (mailbox for info@afindan.com).
We do not sell your personal data.
5. How long we keep your data
- Server log data: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and then deleted automatically, unless needed longer to investigate a security incident.
- Google Analytics data: 2 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
- Email correspondence: as long as needed to handle your request, and in any case no longer than 24 months.
- Cookie consent choice: 12 months.
6. Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise these rights, email info@afindan.com. We will reply within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it); you may also contact the authority of the country where you live or work.
7. Notice for California and other US residents
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track signals: if your browser sends them, statistics cookies are not activated. You may request access to or deletion of your personal information by writing to info@afindan.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
8. Children
This website is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
The website is served exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we keep the software up to date. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our website or the law changes, for example when we add a newsletter. The date at the top shows the latest version. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
